"...truly worthy of the respect, admiration, and commendation of the United States Congress."
Rep. Sheila Jackson Lee, U.S. Congress, 2012
The first salsa studio in Houston, seen by over 1,000,000 Houstonians, a
Certificate of Congressional Recognition,
a
Jefferson Award, two
City of Houston Proclamations
(and
here),
over 25 newspaper articles, over
30 television
and radio appearances, over
50 community projects, several thousand students, are among the many
accomplishments linked to Strictly Street Salsa. That passionate dream of sharing the Latin American
culture that started with 5 students in a small dance studio back in 1998 has grown beyond our expectations
while still remaining committed to the theme that motivated us: bringing audiences a taste of an authentic
Latin American dance experience or as it’s called in Latin circles, "sabor" (soul).
Though all these great achievements have become part of our identity, we are conscious that they
could have not happened without the support you have provided us throughout the years, for which we are
sincerely grateful and look forward to continuing making our city a better place to live.
Que Viva la Salsa!
